Robert Sean Leonard as James Wilson
James Evan Wilson of FOX's medical drama,
House is played by Robert Sean Leonard. The head of the Department of Oncology at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, Wilson was educated at McGill University and University of Pennsylvania. He also has a second diploma from Columbia University.
Wilson had three failed marriages, and after his third wife, Bonnie, left him, he temporarily moved into House's apartment to sort things out for himself. He even told House that as long as he hasn't found another apartment to stay in, it means that he and his wife have not yet filed for divorce. However, he later moved out, saying that he had found a new apartment.
House once said that the trouble with Wilson when it comes to women is that Wilson likes "fixing" them to his liking and when the time comes, he becomes discontent and moves on to find another woman.
Wilson was once asked out on a date with Lisa Cuddy, who was in fact screening him as a potential father, as she wanted to have a baby. He was unaware of this, and even avoided the topic of having children.
As a dedicated friend and colleague, Wilson often placed his own career on the line to save House. When Edward Vogler proposed a motion to the hospital's Board of Directors to dismiss House, Wilson was the only one to vote against it. Vogler later dismissed Wilson, who was later re-hired thanks to Dr. Lisa Cuddy's efforts of uncovering Vogler as the real threat to the hospital.
Wilson also attempted to interfere with House's drug habits, by starting a bet to prove House's addiction to vicodin. House admitted that he was addicted, but said that it didn't matter as long as it did not interfere with his work. However, Detective Michael Tritter began to threaten to place House in jail, resulting to a court hearing. During this time, Wilson convinced House to attend rehab to ease the situation. However, when House was deprived of his regular dosage of vicodin, he punched Robert Chase, insulted Dr. Cuddy and falsely diagnosed a child, almost leading to the loss of her arm and leg. The situation worked out later when Cuddy and Wilson's efforts free House of the charges against him.
