House of Carters

Aaron Carter, the House of Carters star and singer, was arrested Thursday afternoon for possession of marijuana.  While in Texas, Carter was driving his Cadillac Escalade and was pulled over around noon for speeding.  The officer searched Carter's car and found less than two ounces of marijuana.  He was promptly taken into custody and spent the night in jail.  Carter was driving alone at the time.  He was expected to be arraigned Friday morning. 

While Mr. Carter has spent a lot of time in the gossip columns over his career, this is the first real piece of legal trouble the younger Carter has found himself in.  Although his breakthrough came years ago with the mild hit “Aaron's Party,” Carter is probably most famous for being caught in the middle of a Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff feud.  The only reason Aaron Carter rose to any fame at all, in actuality, is because of his older brother Nic, who was a Backstreet Boy.  

Most recently, Aaron and Nic starred in their very own reality series The House of Carters.  The show is/was very similar to all the other celebreality fare that you find on VH-1 and MTV.  The two brothers clashed on a regular basis and, while sometimes the fights were brutal, I understand.  I've got two brothers and the thing brothers do most is fight.  

Interestingly, Carter's arrest comes on the heels of Dancing with the Stars announcing its latest star-studded cast.  There was much speculation prior to season five of the dance reality show that Carter would be one of the contestants.  For some reason or another, this fell through.  I guarantee that Carter would rather be prepping for a season of Dancing with the Stars than sitting in a Texas prison right about now.
