Another guest star is lined up for an episode this season nine of
Smallville, as reports have confirmed the return of a charming character from the DC universe. Charming, of course, because she's going to cast yet another magic spell on the show. Actress Serinda Swan is ready to reappear on the show as Zatanna soon, giving fans another spellbinding surprise.
According to
TV Guide Magazine, Swan will be seen on the upcoming episode "Warrior," which will air in the early weeks of next year. The powers behind Smallville are keeping mum about what her return brings, but we can bet she'll be stirring up a little fun for the others.
First appearing on last season's "Hex," Serinda Swan enjoyed the experience so much that she hoped for another shot. "There was always the hint that she might return one day, so I was keeping my fingers crossed," she told the publication. "I love the cast and I really like the character."
As of now, there's just a lot of mystery surrounding her return. Maybe that's just as well. "[K]nowing the character and what she's capable of, it's going to be something pretty interesting," Swan revealed.
On her previous
Smallville gig, Zatanna managed to grant the inner desire of birthday girl Chloe (Allison Mack). This causes the celebrator to exist in the body of Lois Lane (Erica Durance). What's more, this conjurer crossed paths with Oliver (Justin Hartley) as she sought out her late legendary father's diary.
One thing that Zatanna was certainly remembered for is her peculiar speech. Even Serinda Swan had a memorable time learning how to talk backwards, using her iPod and reversing the spells to study the character's manners.
"I'm definitely going to have to brush up on my backwards-speaking," Swan exclaimed. "It was a fine art to learn!"
The
Smallville writers are certainly upping the ante when it comes to guest stars this season. Anyway, mark your calendars for "Warrior" as Serinda Swan reappears next year.
