Every day, we here at BuddyTV will let you know all the new shows airing that night to help you plan your TV-viewing schedule. In addition, we’ll highlight two episodes we think are worth checking out to help diversify your love of TV.
Tuesday is reality night.
Dancing with the Stars,
Big Brother,
Beauty and the Geek,
Hell's Kitchen,
American Idol, it’s all on tap tonight. But for reality TV that actually inspires, NBC is the network to watch tonight for the season finale of
The Biggest Loser, followed by the post-strike return of
Law and Order: SVU.

I'm so happy The Biggest Loser is ending. This season has been going on since I was about 8-years-old.
The Biggest Loser – “Finale”
(NBC, 8pm)
The finale of
The Biggest Loser always fills me with emotion. Most reality shows are about scheming or strategy or talent.
The Biggest Loser is about changing people’s lives. American is an obese nation, and on this show, people learn to live healthy, completely transforming themselves over the course of the season. People lose more than 100 pounds, and the highlight of the finale is seeing a poster of the before picture as the new and improved contestants break through and reveal just how huge an impact this show has on their lives. Someone will win a lot of money, but more importantly, they’re all winning countless years added to their lives.
Law and Order: SVU – "Undercover"
(NBC, 10pm)
I can’t pinpoint an exact moment, but at some time,
SVU became better than the original
Law and Order. Perhaps it’s the strong performances of the two leads, and in tonight’s return, Olivia Benson (Emmy winner Mariska Hargitay) goes undercover as a prisoner to expose prison guard corruption. There’s a reason she’s won an Emmy (and been nominated three other times) despite being on a generic crime procedural, and it’s episodes like this one that give us that reason.
