Tonight is full of repeats from both
Lost and
CSI, so I’ve decided to do something a bit different: in addition to promoting one new episode tonight, I’m going to spotlight a repeat that you may have missed the first time because you were too busy watching new episodes of
Lost. It’s an episode of the CW’s
Supernatural called “Mystery Spot,” and it’s a
Groundhog Day-inspired tale that will make you laugh and cry.

Eli Stone – “Soul Free”
(ABC, 10pm)
In the season finale of this charming, quirky legal series, Eli Stone (Johnny Lee Miller) goes into surgery to have his brain aneurysm taken out, though since he believes the aneurysm gives him prophecies, this may or may not be a good thing.
Supernatural – “Mystery Spot”
(The CW, 9pm)
This repeat finds the demon-hunting Winchester brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) in a small town where mysterious things happen. Dean dies a horrible death, but the next morning, just as in
Groundhog Day, the boys relive the day, only Sam is the only one who realizes it. Thus begins a series of unfortunate days in which Dean dies every single time. Even if you’re not familiar with the show, this episode is worth watching just for the joy of seeing the many creative ways the writers come up with to call of the main characters.
