Every day, we here at BuddyTV will let you know all the new shows airing that night to help you plan your TV-viewing schedule. In addition, we’ll highlight two episodes we think are worth checking out to help diversify your love of TV.
Tonight features some shows coming back after the strike with new episodes on a new night.
One Tree Hill settles in at 9pm with a new episode, but the one to watch is
Bones, the FOX procedural that is slowly but surely growing into a bona fide hit. If teen reality is more your thing, after tonight’s all new episode of The Hills, you can watch the premiere of MTV’s latest “docu-drama,”
The Paper.

I like Greek as well. I can't believe not a lot of people don't like it.
Bones – “The Man in the Mud”
(FOX, 8pm)
The crimes on
Bones are interesting, but as with any show, the thing that makes it great is the character work. Emily Deschanel is fascinating as the socially awkward forensic anthropologist, and David Boreanaz has transformed himself from a brooding vampire to a dependable, charming, serious yet funny leading man. In tonight’s episode, Bones and Booth’s shrink, Dr. Larry Sweets (the hilarious John Francis Daley from
Freaks and Geeks) suggest the duo go on a double date with Sweets and his girlfriend.
The Paper – “Pilot”
(MTV, 10:30pm)
I worked on my high school and college newspapers. I loved them, and love the actual process of putting a newspaper together. MTV is about to desecrate those memories with
The Paper, and based on the previews, it is a shrill, heavily staged fictionalization of what a high school newspaper room is like. If this show is to be believed, high school newspapers are the birthplaces and cut-throat politics and backroom scheming. Either MTV found the craziest high school ever, or my experience was abnormal, because I remember my high school newspaper as being quite boring.
