American Idol (FOX, 8pm): All of the contestants perform together for the first time as the Top 12 take on the Rolling Stones.

South Park (Comedy Central, 10pm): The lovable scamps return in the 14th season premiere. Animated Tiger Woods stars.

Thursday

FlashForward (ABC, 8pm): After a long hiatus, the drama returns as everyone gets closer to understanding the mysterious worldwide blackout.

Sunday

Desperate Housewives (Sunday, ABC, 9pm): Torchwood fans are in for a treat as Captain Jack Harkness, aka John Barrowman, shows up on Wisteria Lane as Angie's ex.

Breaking Bad (Sunday, AMC, 10pm): Emmy winner Bryan Cranston is back for the third season premiere of AMC's acclaimed drama about a chemistry teacher who turns into a drug kingpin to support his family.
