Last week, I swear you could hear a collective gasp across America when krumper and pre-season favorite Russell Ferguson was announced as one of the bottom four dancers. That collective gasp was followed by much head scratching and at least a few WTFs?!?

It was clear that Russell would not be eliminated in week one, which left many people postulating that he was placed in the bottom four solely for dramatic effect or to energize his fans into voting. (When voting is allowed.) Not so, says Nigel Lythgoe. The So You Think You Can Dance head judge took to his Twitter to explain why the judges put Russell in the bottom four, saying the krumper simply wasn't good enough in his foxtrot.

While Nigel and I are going to have to agree to disagree on Russel's performance, I thought considering the circumstances, it was a solid performance; it is nice to see Nigel taking to Twitter to answer the big questions raised from the show. Hopefully this trend continues for the rest of the season.
