Ghost Whisperer, currently in its fifth season, attempts to thread new territory after last season's love transcends death mythology.  Now that Melinda and Jim/Sam are proud parents of a baby boy, the happy couple starts a new life together but not without the company of earthbound spirits with unfinished business.

If you want to know more about the new season, you can find some clues after the jump. Take note, however, that these spoilers are not confirmed by CBS so read at your own risk.

Warning: Ghost Whisperer Spoilers Ahead!!!

Episode 5.1 "Birthday Presence"

In the season opener, Sam re-invents himself as a physician while viewers are introduced to Melinda's baby Aiden. And though the series has jumped five years into the future, we get a glimpse of what happened exactly five years ago: There's a woman named Amber Heaton who died during childbirth. Her baby, Tyler, survives and is adopted though Amber thinks the child's body died and his soul is now in Aiden's body, haunting him every year on his birthday.

We also meet Dale Harmon, the executive who got Amber pregnant during a one-night stand and wants to adopt the baby and raise him with his wife, Emily Harmon. As the episode unfolds, we learn that their marriage hits a roadblock due to Dale's affair with Amber, which is complicated by the fact that Emily has trouble getting pregnant.

Episode 5.2 "See No Evil"

Set in a campus, Ned is seen making out with girl named Brianna but a disturbance leads them to make a terrifying discovery. And since both of them know about Melinda's gift, they call Melinda instead of the cops. Meanwhile, Ned and Brianna speculate that one of Brianna's friends is to blame for what happened, particularly the recently deceased Gwen Collier, who is causing the haunting.

Evidently, Gwen blamed Brianna for her boyfriend dumping her after Brianna told Gwen's boyfriend that she made out with another guy. This led to a huge brawl but they didn't reconcile before Gwen was killed.

Episode 5.3 "Till Death Do Us Part"

In the third episode of Ghost Whisperer, we meet Eli's father, Ray (Barry Newman), who recently passed away from a heart attack. We learn that before he died, he would allow himself a cocktail everyday, which is his way of hanging on to his glory days. We also find out that he and his friend Don (Barry Bostwick) were the co-owners and founders of a screen door shop in Grandview.

Eli's mother, Evelyn (Christine Estabrook), who died 10 years ago from a brain aneurysm, also makes an appearance when Melinda has a vision regarding the cause of her death. And it looks like her death was more complicated than what was originally declared.

Episode 5.4 "Do Over"

A ghost nurse is wandering the hallways of a hospital in preparation for an upcoming surgery. She tells the doctor that everything is ready but is shocked when the procedure takes a deadly turn. Evidently, the doctor already died back in the 1950s of a heart attack and now he haunts the hospital where he worked by constantly repeating the same surgery he was performing at the time of his death.

Meanwhile, the fourth episode of Ghost Whisperer also finds Delia having a first date lunch with an attractive lawyer named Roger at an Italian restaurant she frequently goes to.

Episode 5.5 "Cause for Alarm"

Melinda lends a hand to Eli's patient who thinks he's being watched by his sister's ghost. 24 actor Chad Lowe guest stars as Nathan Weiss, one of Eli's new patients.

Episode 5.6 "Head Over Heels"

Ghost Whisperer gives a modern twist to the legend of Sleepy Hollow when the headless horseman comes to Grandview.

Episode 5.7 "Devil's Bargain"

Melinda senses trouble when Aiden continues to mention his fear of "the shadows."

Episode 5.8 "Dead Listing"

Melinda is involved in a murder mystery when a ghost leads her to his own corpse.

Episode 5.9 "Lost in the Shadows"

Melinda and Jim face their worst nightmare when their son Aiden disappears.

Episode 5.10 "Excessive Force"

This episode will include a humorless police officer who is suffocating his teenage daughter by being over protective and an angry 17-year-old ghost who was abused by his drunken father while he was still alive.

Episode 5.11 "Dead Air"

This episode features an unfortunate prank gone awry and a bizarre and paranormal incident that disrupts the happy home of a married woman. It also sheds light on the story of an irate woman whose pernicious jealousy eventually led to the destruction of her marriage.

Episode 5.12 "Blessings in Disguise"

In this episode, we meet Katie, an athletically slim dancer who has feelings for Ned. Her family, composed of her father, mother and a younger brother, however, is hiding a big family secret and is not keen on the idea of Katie dating Ned.

Episode 5.13 "Living Nightmare"

In a flashback scene, a woman in her early 30s is seen fighting for her life against a mysterious assailant. Meanwhile, a skateboarder tells the authorities about a bizarre incident.

So far, only spoilers for the aforementioned episodes of the fifth season have been revealed. Be sure to check back for updates!
