BuddyTV Fan Popularity Rankings - October 22-28
Tuesday, October 30, 2007

Once again, reality TV dominates BuddyTV's Fan Popularity Rankings and models sit at the top and the bottom. In between, however, there are some shake-ups, some extra trashy reality dating shows, and the possible next President of the United States of America.

America's Next Top Model continues its reign, boosted this week by the controversial exit of Ebony. Check out our exclusive interview with Ebony for her take on why she left. Typically the next two shows would be Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor, but while DWTS retained its place (thanks to Marie Osmond), The Bachelor was dropped to number four by the J.Lo-sized posterior of Kim Kardashian. Her E! series Keeping Up with the Kardashians is soaring in the ratings and among fans of BuddyTV. I guess having a badonkadonk and a sex tape is all you need to make people like you.

I Love New York scores the fifth spot, which means people are obsessed with watching to see if this hopeless woman can find “true love.” Or else people just love midgets and toe-sucking, because this show has plenty of both.

The Colbert Report finds a surprising home at number six. News of his potential, probably fake run for the presidency in South Carolina has sparked intense interested in the man behind the man. However, it's clear his core constituency is Internet enthusiasts. In a BuddyTV poll with more than 9,000 responses, 80 percent of readers say they would vote for Stephen Colbert to be the next President of the United States.

The only two scripted programs on the FPR reside at seven and eight. Like past weeks, those two are High School Musical, still riding high on Vanessa Anne Hudgens, and Prison Break, still riding high on putting out exciting television that polarizes its fan base. After the sudden death of Dr. Sara Tancredi, producers announced a possible Prison Break spin-off centering on a women's penitentiary. A BuddyTV poll reveals a split decision on that issue, as 51 percent are interested in the idea while 49 percent hate it.

A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila climbs back into the FPR top 10 like a drunken ex-lover into your bed. It's easy to see why this show is a hit: plenty of lesbian make-out sessions, plenty of explosive fights, and the most mismatched pair since Felix and Oscar: good ol' Southern boy Ashley and his sidekick, Little Italy, aka Domenico.

Rounding out the list is America's Most Smartest Model. It helps when you have an entire cast of ridiculously hot people, and it helps even more when half are men and half are women, because it gives you twice as many demographics.

Will Dancing with the Stars ever claim the top spot? Will another scripted program ever enter the fray? What's bigger, Kim Kardashian's rump or Tyra Banks' ego? Check back next week to find out!
