The buzz surrounding
Anne Hathaway's performance in the drama film
Rachel Getting Married hasn't shown signs of dying down yet. Since the film premiered at the Venice Film Festival earlier this year, critics have been raving about her portrayal of a troubled woman returning from rehab to attend her sister's (
Rosemarie DeWitt) wedding.
In the UK premiere of the film, however, the 25-year-old actress expressed her excitement over the positive reviews, but played down claims that she could win an Oscar. “[It's] a little premature to get excited about [it],” she said.
It seems that Hathaway will not be resting on her laurels. Her next film,
Bride Wars, will see her appear alongside
Candice Bergen and
Kate Hudson. Production for Tim Burton's adaptation of
Alice in Wonderland, where she appears as one of the major characters, has gone underway.
