High School Musical sweethearts
Zac Efron and
Vanessa Hudgens have had to spend a little time away from each other as the holiday weekend approaches. Hudgens is out promoting her new album, Identified, which hit stores yesterday. Her first video from the album, “Sneaknight”, premiered on The Disney Channel last month. This week, she made appearances in New York City on
Good Morning America,
Live with Regis and Kelly, and MTV’s
TRL. Yesterday, she hit Chelsea Piers for a promotional photo shoot. Whenever she encountered a reporter, she was more than happy to talk music and
High School Musical 3, but not boyfriend Zac Efron.

Without his girlfriend in tow, Efron returned home from filming
High School Musical 3 in Salt Lake City. He headed out and about Hollywood all week – eating, shopping, and heading to the gym. He was polite to the paparazzi, waving and smiling, but didn’t offer up any quotes about his projects or his personal life. As the two have matured, they seem to have shied away from the spotlight, opting instead to keep their relationship under wraps.
While in New York, Hudgens expressed that she is looking to maintain her image as a role model for young girls. Though she has gone through some rough patches, she has ultimately tried to be a positive influence on her fans. “At the end of the day I have to be happy with myself,” she told
TRL. “Just going to live my life and enjoy doing it. You only have one shot. Of course I want to be a good role model and try to do my best but I’m still me.” Today, Hudgens arrived at LAX airport, signed some autographs for fans, and no doubt headed to reunite with Efron for some fireworks and grilling this weekend!
