After getting major roles in films like High School Musical and 17 Again, Zac Efron is ready to make himself known on television once more.  He’ll be the latest celebrity to join the ranks of those who have made cameo appearances on the hit HBO series Entourage.

A representative from the network confirmed that the star will be seen on the show’s sixth season, which kicks off on the 12th of July.  Zac Efron will reportedly be playing himself, but other plot details have not yet been revealed.

Last week, the High School Musical sensation was seen filming his Entourage role at Niketown in Beverly Hills.  He arrived at around 9am with the crew, but not with the rest of the cast.

An employee of the store commented on Efron’s appearance in the establishment, telling E! News about the star.  “He was filming a scene and talking on his cell phone,” the eyewitness said.  “None of the other ‘Entourage’ cast was here.  He was really nice. … He was wearing sunglasses, and he left in a limo with another guy.”

Even though Efron didn’t stop to greet his audiences while filming, it looks as though he’ll be making fans out of his co-stars on Entourage.  Series actor Jeremy Piven confessed to E! that he found the 17 Again star truly likeable and dished about the upcoming season.

Regarding Zac Efron‘s appearance, Piven announced: “He actually is a total sweetheart, and he was awesome, and now he’s going to become a client of Ari Gold.”

While no exact airdate has been released for the High School Musical star’s appearance, Jeremy Piven hinted on it.  “It will be in kind of the middle,” he revealed.  “But it’ll be nice. It’ll be a step up in a major way.  He comes on as himself, like David Schwimmer does.”

Piven continued: “A lot of people come on as themselves and they are very self-deprecating and taking one for the team.  And they don’t look great in it.  And they’ve been amazing. People have been incredible.  It’s been an amazing year.”
