The
High School Musical movies have turned their young cast members into A-list stars and have opened numerous doors for them in Hollywood. Cast members
Vanessa Hudgens,
Ashley Tisdale, and
Corbin Bleu have all put out albums.
Lucas Grabeel has a role in the upcoming, much buzzed about film
Milk, which also stars James Franco and Sean Penn.
Monique Coleman competed on
Dancing With The Stars, with partner Louis van Amstel. Of course,
Zac Efron starred in the critically acclaimed remake of
Hairpsray and has several other films in the works. Recently, there has been talk of the star releasing his own solo album but is it fact or fiction?
It turns out that a rumor is all this is. Though his friends and co-stars have released albums of their own, when asked if Efron was considering following in their footsteps, he responded, "Never." It's not that Efron wouldn't want to head into the studio, he told OK! magazine at the French Connection party at the Hollywood Life House in Toronto this week. “I don’t think I could contribute something to the industry that wouldn’t be something you’ve seen before," he explained.
Last night, Efron and girlfriend/co-star Vanessa Hudgens hit the 2008 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party. Vanessa hit the cover of the magazine for the September issue and Zac was featured on the cover the very next month. The two will be spending lots of quality time together, while promoting
High School Musical 3, which hits theaters October 24th.
Also in attendance at last night's Teen Vogue party were Disney star Selena Gomez, model Bar Rafaeli, Rumer Willis who recently appeared in
The House Bunny,
Twilight star Nikki Reed, Evan Rachel Wood who will star in the upcoming film
Whatever Works, former Nickelodeon sweetheart Emma Roberts,
Lost actress Emile De Ravin, and Courrtney Love's daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.
