After three versions of
High School Musical, you always had this idea that most of the cast are barely in their 20s, or at the very least, just reached two decades old. So, learning that one of the Disney hit's stars has gotten married was a surprise. Not that it's a bad thing—if it's time, then it's time—but it's the perceived age thing, yes.
KayCee Stroh, better known as East High student Martha Cox in the series, tied the knot with her boyfriend Ben Higginson last Friday in Salt Lake City, Utah. The two, both aged 24—I told you it's a shock—were wed in a private Mormon ceremony in the city, before exchanging wedding bands at a ring ceremony attended by family and friends. Also in attendance were Stroh's fellow
HSM stars, including
Monique Coleman, Ryne Sanborn and
Bart Johnson.
The couple met in late 2007, when common friends hooked them up during a concert. It was something that, for the actress, seemed to be in the books: “The first time I saw him I had a good feeling about him,” she said about her new husband, who works as a co-owner of a production company. “I had this feeling that told me, ‘You're going to spend a lot of time in your life with this person.' We talked for hours and we had so much in common and I could tell he was an amazing person.”
They became engaged in May last year, while Stroh was busy filming
High School Musical 3: Senior Year in Utah. After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple will settle down in Los Angeles.
Suddenly I'm thinking about who could possibly tie the knot next among the other
HSM stars. But, well, it's too early to think about, right? And perhaps it wouldn't fly under the radar like this one…
