'High School Musical 3's Matt Prokop Back with a 'Furry Vengeance' and 'Medium'
After last month's report of 19-year-old High School Musical 3 star Matt Prokop being rushed to the ICU, he has fully recovered and is returning with a vengeance.  A Furry Vengeance.  The actor has landed a role in another family comedy coming next year, putting him alongside veterans Brendan Fraser and Brooke Shields.

Talking to the Victoria Advocate, Matt Prokop revealed that his role in the movie slightly mirrors his real life.  The story of the film is set in the Oregon wilderness where local wildlife threatens the plans of a real estate developer.  Playing Tyler, the agent's sarcastic son, was a great experience for the budding actor.

"What's pretty funny about it is I'm playing the son of a man who develops homes and that's actually what my dad does in real life," Prokop revealed.  Furry Vengeance is just his second movie to date, but already he's rubbing shoulders with huge celebs.

"It was incredible," the High School Musical: Senior Year star exclaimed.  "Growing up watching them and being huge fans of both of them, I was really nervous to work with some of my idols.  But they were very welcoming and treated me like their own son, so it was a really great experience and I learned a lot from both of them."

With those major roles to his credit though, he still managed to do some small screen work.  He's been spotted on several Disney shows, and was even an extra on The Office, but now he's landed quite a part in CBS' Medium.

Appearing on the November 13 episode on the Patricia Arquette-starrer, Prokop said that this was a chance to get into a more dramatic genre.  Fans will see his darker side on Medium, very much unlike the happy-hyper The Rocket on High School Musical.

"It's pretty cool.  My character is very dark and is convinced he's not who he is.  It was nice to play a very serious role and no so much the comedy," he said.  "This was my first dramatic role."

Even though he already has enough on his plate, Matt Prokop still has high hopes for the future.  "I'd love to do an action film. I think that would be really fun, to play a spy or something.  And I'd love to work with some of the greats, like Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio and Edward Norton.  If I could work with any of those three, I'd be completely satisfied with what I've done."

We may just see him beside those stars someday, but right now you can catch Matt Prokop on Medium this month and on Furry Vengeance in April next year.
