High School Musical is a television-musical film, distributed by Disney Channel. The Emmy Award-winning telefilm focuses on two high school students and their experiences as they attempt to take the lead roles in their high school musical regardless of other people's plans to prevent them from reaching their dreams.

Leading the show are Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), captain of his school's basketball team, and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens), a transfer student who excels in math and science. They are strangers who met while they are randomly chosen to sing at a New Year's Eve party. Subsequently, the two instantly gains chemistry and eventually become friends. Later discovering that the two would be attending the same school, they attempt to try out for auditions for the school play but each stumbles on several barriers like unsupportive friends, basketball and many more.
