High School Musical

Troy Bolton, Gabriella Montez and the rest of the gang will soon make their way to the big screen as Disney presents High School Musical 3: Senior Year.  But while the next installment of the popular Disney franchise isn't due in theaters until October 24, here's a teaser photo that will hopefully ease the long wait.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year, for those who are not familiar, will feature Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), now high school seniors, as they face the prospect of being separated from each other when they go off in different directions after graduating from East High School.  They will also be joined by the rest of the Wildcats, including Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale), Ryan Evans (Lucas Grabeel), Chad Danforth (Corbin Bleu), Taylor McKessie (Monique Coleman), and others, as they stage an elaborate spring musical reflecting their experiences, hopes, and fears about the future.

Of course, no senior year is complete without the much-awaited prom.  In the photo, Gabriella and Troy celebrate prom with a magical musical-dance number.

"Vanessa's definitely the stronger dancer," Efron told People.  "If I forget the next move, she'll lead me. We have to help each other, that's what we do."

"We're very focused [as dance partners]," Hudgens added.  "We want to get it right and we have so much fun together that even if things do get difficult, we still try to churn it out and have fun with it."

High School Musical 3: Senior Year marks the final installment of the High School Musical franchise that will feature all of its original cast members together.  But while the cast is unlikely to return for the a fourth installment, Hudgens remains optimistic that she and real-life boyfriend Efron may work together again in the future.

"No one says it's the last time," she said.  "Who knows what the future will bring."
