Take the BuddyTV Personality Quiz: Which High School Musical Character Are You?

Ashley Tisdale as Sharpay Evans

Sharpay Evans of Disney's High School Musical is portrayed by Ashley Tisdale. A spoiled, wealthy young woman, Sharpay enjoys constantly being in the spotlight. She wears designer clothes and is the most popular girl in East High. A good actress, she is always picked for the lead role in school plays. She is the fraternal twin sister of Ryan, who attends East High with her. Like Sharpay, Ryan is also a talented actor.

In the first installment of High School Musical, Sharpay developed a crush on Troy Bolton, the captain of the school basketball team. However, she was threatened by the new girl in town, Gabrialla Montez, who seemed to catch the eye of Troy. Things got worse when Gabriella and Troy tried out for the school play, which she and her brother planned to star in. She deviously schemed with her brother to prevent them from landing the two lead roles on the play, but their plans were thwarted by Gabriella, Troy and their friends.

In the second film, Sharpay was still determined to have Troy for herself. First, she hired Troy to take a summer job at Lava Springs, the resort owned by the Evans. She asked the manager to do whatever it takes for him to work there, and when Troy finally did, he took all of his East High friends with him, including Gabriella. This angered Sharpay, who was determined to snatch him away from Gabriella. Taking advantage of her wealthy father's connections, she offered Troy a basketball scholarship to a prestigious school. Gabriella and the rest of Troy's friends felt that he was losing track because of Sharpay's schemes, and Gabriella confronted her about it. Upon seeing Troy, Gabriella told him how she felt about the summer and broke up with him.

Sharpay was then confronted by Troy, who told her what kind of a mean person she was. She burst into tears upon realizing that she was rather alone, as her brother left her to her schemes. At the end of the summer talent show, she handed the award to her brother, Ryan, with whom she reconciled with.
