Take the BuddyTV Personality Quiz: Which High School Musical Character Are You?

Lucas Grabeel as Ryan Evans

Ryan Evans from Disney's High School Musical is portrayed by Lucas Grabeel. The fraternal twin brother of Sharpay, Ryan has the same bleach blonde hair and acting prowess of his sister. Coming from a wealthy family, the twins often wear designer clothes and maintain a status quo in school. The two are also the stage stars in school, as they are often chosen to play the lead characters.

Extremely fashionable, Ryan often wears button down shirts, slacks and a hat. He enjoys singing and dancing to upbeat songs with expressive choreography, which at times seems absurd.

In the first film, Ryan is the sidekick of his sister in her devious schemes to keep the spotlight to themselves. At times, he gets annoyed at his sister's bossy attitude, but succumbs to her every word. Together, they attempted to keep Gabriella and Troy from landing the lead roles in the school play, as they wanted it for themselves. Unfortunately, their plans were thwarted by Gabriella, Troy and their friends.

The second installment of High School Musical featured Ryan as a slightly different person than in the first movie. Set in Lava Springs, the Evans' family resort, the movie featured the students of East High taking summer jobs to earn extra cash. When they found out about the summer talent show, everyone seemed to be happy to join in, but Sharpay would not let them win the prize. She schemed to get Troy to sing with her, replacing her own brother, Ryan. Disgusted at Sharpay, Ryan stood up to her and befriended Gabriella and her friends. He even agreed to choreograph their piece for the talent show. As Sharpay was busy hogging Troy to herself, Gabriella realized how much Troy was neglecting her and their friends. She later confronted Sharpay and broke up with Troy.

Seeing what a mess his sister made, Ryan planned to have Troy sing with Gabriella instead of Sharpay in the talent show. He was able to get Troy to sing, and Gabriella to join him in the middle of the song. This signaled the couple's reunion and reconciliation. Sharpay was moved at what she witnessed, and at the end of the show, awarded her brother with the trophy, as a sign of reconciliation.
