Only two casting calls will be held, one in Walt Disney World in Orlando and the other in Southern California.  The casting call in Orlando will take place on May 7th while a date and location for the California audition has yet to be announced.  Interested candidates must be between the ages of 16 and 22 in order to audition and anybody under the age of 18 must bring a parent with them.  The show will immediately disqualify anyone who works for Disney, has a contract, or has a criminal past.

Those auditioning will have to choose songs from a predetermined list that will be on ABC's website.  In total, they must have 4 prepared songs.  There are five rounds of auditions and the candidates will have to sing a capella throughout.  Though no songs are listed yet on the site, ABC promises that more details will be coming soon.

Candidates must bring a preliminary application with them to the audition.  The application asks typical questions such as age, height, and weight but also asks questions so that the producers can get to know the applicants a little better.  Here are some of the questions:  What do your parents do for a living?  Have you ever appeared as professional performer?  Describe your perfect day.  What is your favorite class?  Why is being famous important or not important?

For those who cannot make the two "epic" casting calls, Disney scouts will be looking across the country for special candidates to bring to the final audition.  That special group of people will get to perform for the judges to grab a spot on the show.  High School Musical: Summer Session will air Sunday and Monday nights on ABC, beginning July 20th.

Would you try out for HSM: Summer Session?
Yes, I'm definitely going to.
I'd think about it.
Sure, if I were young enough.
Maybe if I had some talent.
There isn't enough money.
