This Sunday, ABC will unveil its newest summer reality show,
High School Musical: Get In The Picture. The competition revolves around a group of young, talented contestants who have big dreams of becoming part of the
High School Musical family. Hosted by Nick Lachey,
High School Musical: Get In The Picture will reward its winner with their very own music video, which will air during the credits of
High School Musical 3. The third film will hit theaters this October. The series will run Sunday and Monday nights until August 4, where it will settle into to a regular Monday night time slot, at 8pm ET. ABC has released some details about the early rounds of the competition so read on to find out what’s in store for you come Sunday night!
The show gets things started on Sunday night with the East Cost auditions. Faculty members Tiana Brown, Montre Burton and Rob Adler were on hand for the massive audition at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. They also headed around the eastern half of the United States, holding on the spot auditions for unsuspecting hopefuls. The following week,
High School Musical: Get In The Picture will feature the West Coast auditions, an open casting call in Long Beach, California. The first four episodes of the show will feature the initial audition round as well as the semi-final and final audition rounds.
For their final audition rounds to make it onto the show, the contestants will have to perform duets and work together in order to advance in the competition. Only six will continue on to the main competition and compete for a video in
High School Musical 3. The winner will also receive a recording contract to release two singles with Walt Disney Records, one of which will be the song featured in the film.
