Laura Pyper hails from County Derry/Londonderry in Northern Ireland. She is one of five siblings, the other being two brothers and two sisters. She plays the time traveling witch Ella Dee on the BBC cult show, Hex, in which she has done most of her own stuntwork. She has also appeared on other British and Irish television shows such as Bachelor's Walk, Holby City,
The IT Crowd and the BAFTA award-winning Omagh. She took over the lead on Hex in its second season following original series heroine Cassie's, played by Christina Cole, death in the first few episodes of season two. Her film credits include the highly acclaimed Irish movie Head Rush released in 2004 and 2002's Reign of Fire with Matthew McConaughey and Batman Begins' Christian Bale.
Ella Dee played by Laura Pyper on BBC's supernatural series, Hex, is a 500-year old time traveling sorceress. She is tasked with stopping Azazeal and his band of Nephelim by killing Azazeal's half-human son, Malachi, in order to save the world. Her task is difficult and her adversary powerful, leaving Ella's life in constant danger and peril.
