David Anders was born on March 11, 1981 in Grants Pass, Oregon. He appears as one of the members of the cast in the NBC network’s science fiction drama television series Heroes. Prior to his appearance on Heroes, Anders is most well-known for playing the role of Julian Sark in the ABC network’s spy drama television series Alias. He is the youngest in a family of four children, which included one biological brother, one adopted brother, and one adopted sister. When Anders was younger, he was an active tennis and basketball player, as well as a participant in local theater productions such as My Fair Lady and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Takezo Kensei is portrayed by David Anders in the NBC network’s science fiction show Heroes. Takezo Kensei is a legendary swordsman of ancient feudal Japan who longed to unite the country, and was often the subject of bedtime stories that Kaito Nakamura read to his son Hiro. The name Kensei is actually a Japanese title meaning ‘sword saint’ or ‘holy swordsman,’ signifying Takezo’s absolute mastery of blade combat. When Hiro Nakamura travels back in time, he meets Takezo Kensei.
