NBC is a network that knows how to keep its hit shows in the spotlight even during a lengthy hiatus.  Heroes won't return with its third season until September 22, but fans can look forward to hints being unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con on July 26, which BuddyTV will be covering.  If you can't make it to San Diego, you can get your Heroes fix through a series of original webisodes that will kick off at NBC.com on July 14.  The three-part series, entitled "Going Postal," introduces a new character into the Heroes universe.  Read on to get a sneak peek at the webisodes.

The first installment of the series, "A Nifty Trick," introduces a seemingly normal mailman named Echo DeMille.  Like just about every character on Heroes he soon finds that he has an extraordinary ability.  What is his superpower?  As he puts it to his wife in the trailer: "There's something I haven't told you.  There are sounds that I can make.  I think I killed a guy."  Yes, much like Banshee from the X-Men, Echo can kill people with his sonic scream.  The fact that his parents named him Echo must be a wacky coincidence.

The trailer for "Going Postal" doesn't do much for me, possibly because I'm tired of Heroes introducing new characters.  I can only hope that Echo will be more interesting than the likes of Maya, Alejandro and Monica, but we'll have to wait and see.  The fantastic part about the trailer is that it features Angela Petrelli acting rather villainous, which is something I can't get enough of.  I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of her in the third season.
