In New York City, Mohinder (Sendhil Ramamurthy) and Maya (Dania Ramirez) have taken up domestic life, with him taking care of business while she nags him about curing her of her powers. After a minor fight, Mohinder realizes her powers manifest whenever she’s angry. He suddenly discovers the powers aren’t in the blood, but in the adrenal glands.

Mohinder gets to work analyzing her adrenal glands, lusting after the possibility of having super powers. He finds the source, some microbe looking things, and fills a syringe with the adrenaline that could give anyone powers. Maya is against playing God, but Mohinder is obsessed with the idea of getting powers. Mohinder learns that the serum would give different powers to different people based on their personal physical chemistry.

On the pier, Mohinder considers throwing the serum into the ocean, but then he thinks injecting himself to get his own powers would be way cooler. Some thugs show up to mug Mohinder, but after he crumples up the gun, Mohinder discovers he now has super strength. It’s rather convenient that of the millions of possible ways the serum could mix with his DNA, he just happened to get super strength instead of a heightened sense of smell. Also, on the building behind him is the same mysterious symbol that was on the rock in the middle of nowhere with Matt Parkman.
