Danko walks out of Building 26, and Parkman is sitting across the street in a car, watching. Parkman gets inside his head, and convinces Danko that he can’t trust anyone, and that the person closest to him is in danger. Feeling that he should go make sure they’re okay, Danko grabs a taxi. Parkman follows.
HRG goes to the crematorium and tells them to stop the body transport. He unzips the bags until he finds Sylar’s body, and tells the guards to draw their weapons. He withdraws the spike from Sylar’s head and tells them to wait. The body doesn’t move or heal (because it’s not Sylar). He tells the guards he needs a DNA analysis on the spike. He tells them not to cremate the body. “Who are you?” he asks the body.
Parkman follows Danko to a woman’s house. They embrace at the doorway, and he follows her inside. Parkman gets out his gun and gets out of the car.
Sandra goes to HRG’s new home. She says Claire called half an hour ago, and she’s satisfied their daughter is safe. She just needs HRG to sign something. It’s divorce papers. She gives a heartbreaking speech about how he has perpetually lied and endangered their lives. He begs her to work on their marriage. She says they don’t have a marriage, they have an “arrangement”—a cover for him to do his job.” Don’t insult me with promises. It’s too late,” she tells him. HRG says that they owe it to Lyle and Claire to try. She says she doesn’t love him anymore. He’s a liar and a betrayer. He doesn’t care about his family. She doesn’t love or trust him. She doesn’t even respect him. “And when that’s gone…” she says, and walks out, leaving the papers with him.
Sandra walks down the street, and turns around. It’s not her, after all. It’s Sylar. He shape shifts back to form.
Back on the highway, Sam asks Hiro and Ando to kindly move their “magic baby” the hell away from his truck. Ando thanks him for the ride, and he drives off. They pick up the carseat and take it back to the car. They try to get Matt to stop crying by making funny faces, and he finally stops when Ando makes a crazy happy face with his hands over his ears. Hiro starts the car, and Ando stops making the face. The baby starts to cry again. Ando says he can’t keep the face all the way to New York, but Hiro says, “Yes you can.”
On his way out of her house, Elena speaks to Danko in Russian, calling him Jakob. He says he has to fly back to Chicago, but he’ll be back soon. A car comes to pick him up. They kiss, and Danko drives off. Parkman is watching everything from around the corner of the house. After she reenters, he walks into the woman’s house, gun drawn. She doesn’t hear him and is doing dishes in the kitchen. He points his gun at her back, and then drops it. He can’t kill her. He turns to leave, and she sees him. She asks who he is and what he wants, and he mumbles an awkward apology. She assumes he must be a client of the escort service she used to work for, and insists she doesn’t do that anymore. Parkman realizes that Danko is a client of hers. He uses his mind control to convince her that he and “Jakob” work together, and he asked Parkman to meet there. She insists that he sit. She’s never met any of Jakob’s friends before.
HRG looks at the papers and sees Sandra’s signature. It looks odd. He looks at a scan of other paperwork on his computer and sees a completely different signature. Realizing it wasn’t his wife who signed these divorce papers, he calls the lab and asks about the DNA test on the body. The lab tech tells him the DNA matches James Martin. HRG realizes that Sylar is now a shape shifter.
Parkman asks Elena about “Jakob.” She says they’ve been together about a year, and that he’s in the business of schoolbooks sales. He has a wife and two boys, but promises that after his kids are grown, they will be together. Parkman says the sick thing is that Danko probably does love Elena, but he doesn’t deserve her. She gets up, scared and confused. Parkman tells her everything about Jakob is a lie. She tells him to leave, but he says he’ll show her who he really is.
