Sylar and Danko walk into the club where they think Martin will be. He’s taken on Danko’s shape. Danko wonders why, and Sylar says Martin is after power—and he’s using it to make out with a woman on a couch. “He’s a better you than you!” Sylar says. Martin sees them across the room, gets up and walks out. They rush through the room searching for him.

Sylar’s waiting by a banister for Danko, who approaches and says they must have lost him. Danko begins to walk away, and Sylar pulls a gun on him from behind—but first Danko turns and shoots him in the chest. Sylar falls—and the real Sylar approaches. Martin, in the form of Sylar, lies dying on the floor, and Sylar leans over the screaming man, ready to steal his power.

Claire drags Nathan back to their room, and says he should never fly “in that condition.” In his extremely drunken state, Nathan tells Claire he is sorry he missed his chance to be a good biological father to her. He thought he could win her over in one move if he gave her a free pass. Now he realizes he’s using her as an excuse to hide behind the mess he made, and he wants to try to fix it for everyone he cares about. Claire sheds a few tears as he falls into a drunken sleep, and covers him with a blanket.

In the morning, Nathan thanks Claire for bailing him out with the frat guys. She asks if he’s made any progress, but Nathan didn’t make any calls. He was drunk when he said those things, and he’s sorry that he got her hopes up. He overreached and screwed up, and now he’s saying it’s beyond his control. She’s disappointed in him. Over the years she thought about her real father, and then she met him, and he was more amazing than anything she could have imagined. It doesn’t have to be a fantasy, she tells him. “You can do anything you want. You can fly,” she tells him. “You’re supposed to be Superman.” She tears up as she leaves the room.

In the cathedral, Angela wakes up—she finally slept. Her vision told her that they need to bring the family together—including Nathan and Claire—and go visit Angela’s sister. “Sister?” Peter asks.

Nathan finds Claire at the bus stop. He sold his watch to buy her necklace back, and he puts it on her. He says he’s heading back up to the States, and he begins to walk away. He stops. “Coming?” he asks. She grabs his arm and they walk away.

Danko brings Sylar’s body (Martin’s body) to HRG with a knife in the back of his skull. HRG is clearly shocked as a female agent zips up the body bag.

Peter and Angela leave the cathedral holding hands, and Peter looks up once more at the cathedral, grateful.

Sylar (in the form of the female agent) gets into Danko’s car, and changes back to his own form. Danko tells him, “You realize, if this works, that you’d be the only one left.”

“Funny how that works.”
