Back in the room: Parkman writes down Danko’s address. HRG tells them that if they go after him, they’re dead. “You’re unraveling things you don’t understand,” he tells Peter, who takes a gun and flies off. Then we see the black SWAT vans pulling up to the motel.
Peter shows up to Danko’s apartment and points a gun at him. The team at Building 26 can see in Danko’s apartment, including Nathan.
Peter holds the gun at Danko and they argue. Danko says that if Peter kills him, then he will prove that the heroes are dangerous and the program will kill them all. Nathan shows up ridiculously quickly, and Danko notices that it’s a little suspicious. Nathan tries to convince Peter to put down the gun, but Peter shoots Danko in the arm to prove he’s serious. That's Peter: 2, Hunter: 0. Nathan tells Peter that Mohinder and Parkman are in trouble, and Peter flies away. Danko tells his team to take them down.
HRG tells Parkman that Daphne is alive. Suresh offers to hold off the troops, and Parkman gets into Noah's head and sees Daphne on a stretcher with a gunshot wound to her shoulder. (Wait, so... she got shot in the shoulder, and all her friends assumed she was dead and left her there?)
Mohinder uses his super strength to toss around a few hunters before they take him down with a million tasers and whisk him away.
The troops bust into the motel room. Parkman drops the gun, and they take him down. HRG asks to walk Parkman out. As they walk out of the motel, Peter flies in, drops another explosive, grabs Parkman, and flies off. For the win: Peter: 3, Hunter: 0.
Back at Building 26: Suresh is tied to a chair in the middle of a dark, bare room. They throw water on his face to wake him up. Nathan tries to justify his program (again), and fails to convince (again). Suresh laughs it off as the stupid plan that it is. Nathan shows him a live video of Daphne (who is very much alive) and tells him that if Suresh doesn’t help, then Daphne (and he and Matt and Peter) will die. (Yeah, Nathan. Because scaring and threatening Mohinder into helping the other side ALSO worked so well in the past.)
Danko and HRG walk together, and HRG promises his complete dedication to the plan from now on. Danko asks for his help with Nathan, whose judgment is clouded by his attachment to Peter. They agree to team up with the same agenda, but HRG has a little smile. He’s hiding something.
HRG then walks to a bench and sits down next to Angela. “All things considered, it went pretty well. I think he trusts me,” he says. Angela says he trusts nobody, and HRG will have to make some tough decisions to prove his loyalty. HRG says he’s always been comfortable with the morally gray. He leaves, leaving the watch she gave him on the bench with her.
Parkman is drawing in Isaacs’s old studio, and wakes up to see several prophetic pictures of himself with explosives strapped to his chest. On the floor is a mural of Washington, D.C. blowing up in a huge mushroom cloud. And now we really are back to basics. Or am I watching Season One again?
