In the most boring storyline of the episode, Mohinder discovering that in order for the Formula to work, they need a Catalyst, which is actually a person. Please raise your hand if you care about the Catalyst or the Eclipse. Claire, in her infinite self-absorbed narcissism, thinks she’s the secret Catalyst, although only Kaito Nakamura knows the Catalyst’s true identity.

Nathan visits his dad and he’s upset that Arthur wants Nathan to be president and for everyone to be given powers. I absolutely cannot understand why this is a bad thing, which is the fundamental problem with this show. The promos keep saying Arthur is pure evil, but he hasn’t really done a lot of very bad things. In fact, his goals seem pretty reasonable and positive. Nathan leaves in a huff, but Tracy stays behind, placing her bet on Team Arthur.

In Primatech, Matt Parkman finds Angela Petrelli in a coma, so he goes for a ride in her subconscious. He was a trippy, surrealist dream that involves Daphne stabbing him, but eventually, love rules the day and Arthur shows up to free Angela.

In the final moments of the episode, the heroes and villains have split up into definite roles. On Team Arthur, Flint, Knox, Sylar, Elle and Tracy await his instructions. On Team Angela, Peter, Nathan, Matt, Claire and Daphne fight for good. If you’re wondering why Hiro doesn’t get to play in this ultimate battle, it’s because Heroes hates its fans and wants to leave the best character on the sidelines.

Next week on Heroes: The eclipse comes, and it takes away everyone’s powers. Why would a show called Heroes make all of its character not heroes? If you can answer that question, you’re dumb enough to be a writer on Heroes!
