In a move that is sure to make sci-fi fan boys giddy with glee, Star Trek's Mr. Sulu, George Takai, will be joining Heroes as Hiro's pappy! Rumors indicate Takai will make his first appearance in mid-January. Turns out Hiro's dad is a significant figure at the company Hiro was employed at. He'll show up in the states with a couple of bodyguards and the intent to kidnap Hiro and bring him back to Japan where he belongs. No word on whether or not Takai's character will have any powers of his own, aside from formidable financial resources, nor whether he will factor into the shows long-term story plans. More than likely though, this will be a move to give us some insight into what is behind the hyperbole and always-young behavior of the comic obsessed Hiro; perhaps taking one step closer to the pony-tailed Samurai sword wielding Hiro we saw on the New York subway.
