Zachary Quinto has not one but two action figures to his resume: one as Heroes’ Sylar and the other as Star Trek’s Spock. It’s a rare feat and a little strange especially when both action figures have interchangeable body parts.

“It’s a little weird. Both of my action figures have detachable hands. I’m not sure what that’s suggestive of. You can take the hands off…you can put Sylar’s hand on Spock,” the Heroes actor told Ellen when he stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about his new role in new movie Star Trek.

Quinto has autographed the box featuring his character’s action figure, which was auctioned for the Humane Society of the United States, the largest animal protection organization that serves as a force against cruelty, exploitation and neglect. The bid started at $1 on May 5 at eBay and has reached more than $600.

In another interview, Quinto told Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith on what fans should expect when they see the Start Trek remake, which delves into the back story of Spock.

“It’s really an origin story for all of the characters, I think. And I know as an audience member, that’s always been really gratifying for me to see over the years different experiences, different versions of characters that you know,” Quinto explained.

“I think you walk the line for a minute when you’re deciding about something like this,” added Quinto on whether taking the role of Spoke would be an absolute disaster or the greatest idea of all time. “But J.J. [Abrams], I mean, come on, you know. The only disasters that he’s a part of are the ones that he creates. These epic stories. I think he’s amazing. I think he’s such a visionary.”
