With less screen time and a storyline that's getting more and more complicated, Hiro Nakamura is turning out to be one of the least intriguing characters on the fourth season of Heroes-- at least in my opinion. He's stuck in a love story that will most likely have a bad ending (considering his on-screen love interest Jayma Mays is on another show) and he's still struggling with the consequences of his brain tumor. But his portrayer, Masi Oka, seems optimistic about his character's direction.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
"It's kind of a continuation, but more in a resolution fashion. He now he has three specific goals to accomplish: deal with his brain tumor, rescue Suresh, and find Charlie. That is a more concrete mission than he had in the first half of the season," the
Heroes actor tells
Fancast.com. Speaking of Mohinder, Oka reveals that
Heroes fans will be seeing him in a handful of episodes and "he'll have his own mission as well."
Still, the future doesn't look good for Hiro judging from his "concrete missions." And
Heroes creator Tim Kring's revelations about what's in store for the time-traveler makes it even cloudier.
"Hiro is going to get sidelined by his medical issue, so we are finally going to deal with that in Episode16. His quest is also to find Charlie [played by Jayma Mays,
Glee] - and unfortunately she's on another show! But we will finally deal with that in the season finale [airing February 8], when Charlie and Hiro are reunited.
Will Charlie and Hiro finally get their happy ending? Does this mean we haven't seen that last of Jayma Mays? Or does this mean farewell for Hiro? Catch the rest of the fourth season of
Heroes every Monday at 9pm beginning January 11.
