The big Heroes season 3 premiere kicked off with a two-hour event. You can read our recap of part 1, “The Second Coming,” but now it’s time for the second half. In part 1, Nathan was brought back to life by Linderman, Sylar took Claire’s power, Hiro met a Speedster, Parkman wound up in the middle of nowhere, Niki returned as Tracy and Mohinder got super strength.

Angela Petrelli has a dream, the same one fans got to see in the Heroes season 2 DVD. In it, she walks through the Company hallway and sees all our favorite heroes dead. Then Angela turns around to see Adam Monroe, Niki, Maury Parkman, and another villain staring at her as Sylar comes up behind her.

When she wakes up, she visits Future Peter and demands he leave, because he’s messing with what the future should be. She cites the Butterfly Effect and explains that one instance is when he told Claire not to come to Odessa, leaving her in California to let Sylar take her powers. Future Peter is too busy using strings to plot exactly where everything went awry.

Claire is back to her old tricks, filming attempt #7 to kill herself by standing in front of a train. At the last minute, Peter flies down and saves her. At least it’s not West. Claire wants him to train her so she can beat Sylar, but Peter is too worried about how he’s to blame for Sylar getting her power.

Tracy and her Governor debate the merits of appointing Nathan Petrelli as the junior senator for New York. Apparently Tracy is now a political advisor, though a reporter seems to think she’s a former Las Vegas stripper. Tracy pays a visit to Nathan to ask him to be senator, but he’s convinced she’s Niki. She denies it and when she leaves, Linderman tells him to take it, and that she’s not Niki. Later, we discover Linderman isn’t really there, he’s either a ghost or a hallucination or some other figment that only Nathan can see.

Future Peter tells Nathan the truth about how he was the one who shot Nathan, but now Future Peter is worried because he realizes he might be to blame for making the future worse. After teleporting away, Nathan calls Tracy to accept the job. The reporter is still hounding her, and when she gets angry, she grabs onto him and turns him into a block of ice that shatters into a million pieces. Now that is one bad-ass power!
