Heroes returns with a two-hour episode that revolves around a fallen hero, a quest for revenge and a diabolical master plan.
Last time we saw Heroes, Claire decided to stay in the carnival, while Peter used the Haitian's ability to get rid of Sylar and bring back Nathan, but was forced to accept Nathan's fate as his brother leaped over the edge of a building.
ClaireClaire grows suspicious of Samuel's desire to gather people with abilities and, thanks to Lydia, eventually realizes that Samuel killed Joseph. She then confronts Samuel, who admits he lost control and confesses that what he did was awful. But that's not the only thing she discovers. Claire also finds out her biological father Nathan is dead and now she's pissed at her father Noah for lying about it.
HiroPoor Hiro! He's in Tokyo and he can only communicate by using quotes from various fanboy mediums, which doesn't really make any sense. Hiro goes all "Jedi" and "Battlestar Galactica" and it's not really working for working for me. At any rate, he eventually finds Ando, who somehow figures out that Hiro needs to go to a mental institution in Florida. Probably the one where Hiro hid Mohinder.
EmmaIt turns out Emma's powers doesn't just involve some rainbow bright colors. It can also draw people with abilities like a siren, according to Samuel, who needs Emma to bring in a man named Ian to complete his wicked agenda. When Emma starts playing the cello, Ian arrives and we learn of his ability to make trees bloom.
SamuelSamuel brings Ian to a certain wasteland where Ian creates a green valley, which is supposed to be the carnies' new home. We also learn about Vanessa, his long lost love.
Sylar Sylar finally gets some bedroom action with Lydia though he's not the cold-blooded killer we once knew. In fact, "he's impotent" --- Lydia's words not mine. It turns out he came to the carnival to seek revenge on Samuel but couldn't kill him because he's lonely and wants to be loved. (Seriously, I'm not making this up.) Sylar then starts searching for ink for some answers and Samuel shows him the tattoo of the person he's supposed to be with--- which turns out to be Claire.
PeterStill grieving his brother's loss, Peter tries to be a hero in an office shooting scene by telling a gunman his story in attempt to keep him from hurting more people but to no avail. The gunman ends up shooting Peter, who survives by absorbing Claire's healing ability. Oh and he gets his flying ability back from none other than Wes, Claire's flying ex-boyfriend from season 2!
NoahNoah gets attacked by Edgar from behind but he manages capture him. After interrogating the former carnie with the help of Lauren, Noah proposes that he and Edgar work together to take down Samuel, who initially likes the idea until Noah reveals his plan to separate the carnies. Edgar eventually escapes with all the information Noah needs to locate the carnival while Lauren encourages Noah to start mending his relationship with Claire.
