Tonight on Heroes, Hiro (Masi Oka) travels three years into the past to save Charlie (Jayma Mays), the love of his life from the hands of Sylar (Zachary Quinto). But as we all know, changing the past results in some dire consequences for the future. So the question is: Is Charlie worth it? We find out in "Once Upon a Time in Texas," the eighth episode of Heroes' fourth season.

Before anything else, here's a quick refresher on Charlie: She's a waitress at the Burnt Toast Diner in Midland, Texas, where Hiro and Ando stopped to eat on their road trip to New York during the first season of Heroes. After Charlie tells Hiro that she had developed the ability to quickly memorize and recall any information with great accuracy in a seemingly unlimited volume, Sylar murders her in the diner's storeroom, removing her brain in the same manner as his other victims. In attempt to prevent Sylar from killing her, Hiro travels back in time but accidentally travels back on Charlie's birthday, which is six months before her murder. At the time, Charlie reveals that she's dying because of an aneurism in her brain but still goes on dating Hiro since he makes her happy. However, when Hiro and Charlie are about to kiss, he inadvertently teleports back to present day Japan and is unable to return to save Charlie.

"Once Upon a Time in Texas" reunites Hiro and Charlie though the presence of Samuel (Robert Knepper) complicate Hiro's mission even further. Samuel claims that he's there to make sure that Hiro's plan succeeds but obviously, he has another agenda: He needs Hiro to change the past because someone in his Carnie family is dying.

As Hiro travels to the Burnt Toast Diner, we also get a blast from the past for the rest of the characters on Heroes. Noah (Jack Coleman), in particular, meets with his Primatech partner (Elizabeth Rohm) and we learn that their relationship may be more than just professional.
