After being plagued by rumors of her off-screen romance, Heroes star Hayden Panettiere is heading to the big screen for more.  She's been slated to star in a high-school comedy titled I Love You, Beth Cooper with Paul Rust, and is thrilled about it.

The story of secret desires revolves around a high-school's geeky valedictorian, Denis Cooverman, proclaiming his love for the most popular girl in school during his graduation speech.  While I Love You, Beth Cooper is a bit similar to Panettiere's role as Claire Bennet on the NBC series, she was still excited to promote the film.  The actress started off an online campaign for the movie, inviting other fans to reveal their secrets through a video.

As Panettiere plays the title character Beth Cooper on the film, she's asking everyone to tell her their own secrets just like Denis did.  On the website iloveyoubethcooper.com, users will be able to upload their confessional clips for a special event titled "Beth Cooper Moments of Truth."

Participants are encouraged to tape a special message of theirs that they've always wanted to express, but didn't really have the courage to say so.  The campaign was launched just recently and began with a series of sample "moments of truth" that featured Hayden Panettiere herself.

There's also an option to spread the word on social networks like MySpace, Facebook and YouTube.  What's more, a Twitter account has been made for those who want to confess their secrets anonymously or through their personal Twitters.

I Love You, Beth Cooper was directed by Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone), and is based on the popular 2007 novel of Larry Doyle (The Simpsons, Beavis and Butthead).  The film opens in theaters on July 10.
