Greg Grunberg, cast member on the series
Heroes, headed the Epilepsy Foundation walk on March 31 and has been working on an art auction to support a laudable cause.
Grunberg, a 40-year old native of California, is an actor best known for his role as Eric Weiss on the series
Alias and Sean Blumberg on the drama series
Felicity. His other credits included
Grand Union,
Lost,
Mission: Impossible III, and
House. At present he stars as Matt Parkman, a police officer who has the power to read minds, on the sci-fi series
Heroes. Like his character on cam, Grunberg is also noble in real life, evident in his numerous involvements with charitable organizations.
In an interview with TV Guide, he expressed his sentiments about his recent charitable endeavor, which actually involved his costars on
Heroes, auctioning off paintings of
Santiago Cabrera,
Tawny Cypress,
Noah Gray-Cabey,
Ali Larter,
Masi Oka,
Adrian Pasdar,
Sendhil Ramamurthy,
Leonard Roberts,
Milo Ventimiglia, and
Hayden Panettiere.
Grunberg’s son, Jake, suffers from epilepsy, which inspired Grunberg to actively get involved in raising awareness of the disease. In addition, he frequently arranges fund raising events for the Pediatric Epilepsy Project in Los Angeles, California.
He also explained the epilepsy is something that he deals with everyday. Although it may be tough at times, he maintains that his son bears a normal life, able to play and do typical kid stuff. More importantly, he gets himself involved with awareness campaigns in order to change the stigma of the disease.
Apart from the painting auction and the walk, he and his band, which also includes
James Denton of
Desperate Housewives, Bob Guiney of
The Bachelor, and
Hugh Laurie of
House, are also inclined towards raising funds and helping charitable institutions.
