On the season 3 premiere of Heroes, Cristine Rose made a huge splash in her first appearance as a series regular. Angela Petrelli controlled most of the episode, taking over the Company and revealing that she is Sylar's mother. For Rose, the promotion from guest star to the main cast is a big deal, and it's certainly being displayed in her major storyline.

BuddyTV spoke to Cristine Rose at the NBC fall premiere party two weeks ago to talk about her role on season 3 of Heroes. Though the interview took place before the huge revelation, Rose still spoke about her new role and her character's relationship with her sons. Continue reading for more details and also to watch our exclusive video interview.

When talking about the fact that she’s now a series regular, Rose’s face lights up and she gets very excited. She was thrilled to be asked by creator Tim Kring, and it makes her feel more like a part of the family. She was also happy to get to go to events like Comic-Con. However, Rose is aware that series regulars routinely get killed off, so she doesn’t view the promotion as any sort of job security.

It was previously reported that Oscar-nominated actor Robert Forster will show up this season on Heroes as Arthur Petrelli, Angela’s deceased husband. Rose was careful not to reveal specific details of their scenes together, but she described working with him as “a great joy.” The added bonus was that she says her scenes with him show Angela in a new light, which is one of the many reasons she loves working on Heroes.

When asked whether we’ll find out whether Angela is fighting for good or evil, her answer was simply, “Yes.” Perhaps that means the question was answered when she coddled Sylar, but fans have to assume there’s more to the story than meets the eye.

Volume 3, which will last for the first 13 episodes of the season, will deal with, in Rose’s words, “Who’s good, who’s bad, will they stay that way, who are their friends, and who do they want to die and who are they going to use next.”

Though Angela’s dream already aired in the second half of the season premiere, before it was on TV Rose said that it would be included. While it’s OK to reveal now, at the time, Rose quickly regretted mentioning it and immediately tried to make us forget everything she told us.

The third episode of season 3 airs tonight at 9pm on NBC.  Cristine Rose will play another huge role as she begins to put her plan to use Sylar into place.
