The
Heroes set is a series of vast sound stages filled with whatever set they need for that episode. Unlike more traditional shows, there are very few recognizable sets that remain from episode to episode and season to season. Isaac Mendez’ loft is probably the most famous. When BuddyTV visited the set of Heroes in preparation for season 3, star Adrian Pasdar offered to give us the fastest tour in recorded history. Before we could even accept, he sped off and we tried to make our way through the labyrinthine sound stage.
Sets are built virtually on top of one another. A magic shop specially designed for a quick scene stands next to what is now Mohinder’s loft and the hideout for two of the season’s new villains. Continue reading to see our video tour with Adrian Pasdar, as well as a sneak peek at two scenes from an upcoming episode.
The set tour began with a viewing of the wall of fallen
Heroes, where photos of “deceased” characters are posted. Of course, in the world of Heroes, dead is a relative state of being due to time travel and possible immortality. So while Pasdar points out D.L., Kaito Nakamura, Thompson, Linderman and Isaac, their inclusion does not mean they’re gone forever. In fact, two of those characters will appear in some way during the premiere of season 3.
Next was a new set for a new character as Pasdar invited us into the seedy, rundown apartment of a guy named Bartell. Little is known about this new character, but it’s clear that he’s a villain and someone whose apartment has weights and possibly stolen rims.
The set tour brings us to a BuddyTV exclusive: your very first look at two scenes from season 3’s sixth episode. While the two scenes move quickly and may not shed any real light on what’s happening, if you understand the context, you might just be able to figure out a thing or two about where the season is going.
MILD SPOILER WARNING: These scenes and the descriptions about them may spoil some key plot points in the future, so read at your own risk.
