David Anders Talks 'Heroes' Season 3
David Anders Talks 'Heroes' Season 3
I have to admit that I didn't like many of the new characters that were introduced in the second season of Heroes.  Claire's new boyfriend, West, was creepy and annoying, Maya and Alejandro were useless, and Micah's cousin, Monica (Dana Davis), wasted an awesome super power on playing Double Dutch.  However, one character that I truly did love was the evil Adam Monroe, played by former Alias star David Anders.  The last we saw of the wannabe Takezo Kensei, he was buried alive by Hiro (Masi Oka) after attempting to release a deadly virus.  Is it really possible to keep a good villain down?

Anders recently spoke with SyFy Portal about whether or not he'd ever return to the series.  Beware that there are spoilers for the third season of Heroes below, so don't read on if you don't want to know.

The instant they showed Adam buried alive in the second season finale, I knew he'd be back at some point. Anyone who has ever read a comic book knows that you need to be much more thorough than that when dispatching a supervillain.  Anders confirms that he'll definitely appear in one of the first six episodes of season 3, and he hopes that, since this chapter of Heroes is called "Villains," he'll be back for more.

If Anders has his way, his return to the series definitely won't include any more shots of being buried alive.  "It was the most frightening experience ever,"  the actor says.  "I was in a three-sided satin coffin between two pieces of glass.  I had to contort my body like David Blaine."

The third volume of the NBC series will center around numerous baddies, including Sylar (Zachary Quinto), Angela Petrelli, Adam, and 12 new characters yet to be revealed.  Fans will likely have to wait until September for the show to return, but until then we can ponder how Adam will manage to escape his early grave.
