Ali Larter has come a long way from her infamous whipped cream bikini scene in the 1999 film,
Varsity Blues. In fact, the television star and print model has made big waves last year, after being cast on the hit NBC series,
Heroes, and being named as one of
FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2007, landing in the 100th spot. In the recently concluded second season of
Heroes, we saw Ali Larter's Niki Sanders in a cliffhanger, as she was left to supposedly die in an explosion. Larter, who just turned 32 on February 28, revealed in an interview the that she does know about Niki's fate after the explosion, but she isn't spilling any beans.

Ali Larter dished in the latest
Official Heroes Magzine, which recently hit newsstands, about the things that really got her hooked on
Heroes. She admits that she was drawn to Niki Sanders' complexity, and it was one of the reasons why she took the role.
"The key is really about looking for challenging material. And this [was the first time] I decided to read pilots. Most of them I thought were okay, but really didn't have a character where I felt like, if this show did go for six years, I could really grow and live with," Ali Larter explained. "And when I read Tim Kring's [
Heroes] pilot, I was totally blown away, because I haven't gotten many chances in my career to really deal with complex women, and Niki is complex, to say the least."
This is one chance she did not let slip away, and she feels happy and blessed to be playing the role. Moreover, Larter said, "[Niki] allows me to internalize what's happening and really goes through thought processes of what's happening in her life. It's not all on the page, it's not just hand-fed to you. So I was blown away by [Tim Kring's] writing and his ideas and kind of the themes in the show."
It seems that Ali Larter has established herself as an actress who's comfortable taking on roles which require some mental instability as she was recently cast in an upcoming film entitled
Obsessed. In the thriller, Larter will play a temporary office worker who decides to stalk an asset manager played by Idris Elba. Executive producer of the film Beyonce Knowles will also appear as Elba's on-screen wife.
