Tuesday nights are going to be a bit confusing for TV fans in the next couple of weeks. Following ABC's decision to pull
Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 from the schedule and replace it with double helpings of
Happy Endings, FOX is doing the same thing with
Ben and Kate and
Raising Hope.
Effective immediately, the freshman comedy Ben and Kate is being taken off the air with no update on when the remaining episodes might air. Instead, 8:30pm will be replaced with new episodes of Raising Hope.
Raising Hope will air back-to-back episodes from 8-9pm on Tuesday, January 29, February 5 and February 26. February 12 will feature reruns due to the State of the Union Address while February 19 will feature a new
Raising Hope at 8pm and a repeat of
New Girl at 8:30pm.
In an even more confusing move,
Raising Hope will go on a one-month break following February 26 before moving to Thursday, March 28 for the one-hour season finale at 9pm following an
American Idol results show.
Tuesday nights will serve as home to the latest season of
Hell's Kitchen starting March 12 at 8pm. Oddly (or perhaps on purpose), it will compete against the season finale of ABC's new cooking competition,
The Taste.
Meanwhile,
New Girl and
The Mindy Project will remain where they currently are.
There are plenty of questions left unanswered by these extensive schedule changes on Tuesday nights.
-When will
Ben and Kate air again, and does this mean the show is basically canceled?
-Why would they have a one-month hiatus between the penultimate episode of
Raising Hope and the season finale, and why move it to Thursdays? Is giving the show a post-Idol spot a sign of faith?
-FOX was so bitter about NBC scheduling
The Voice against
The X Factor during premiere week, so isn't it hypocritical to move up the premiere of
Hell's Kitchen to air opposite
The Taste?
