CSI: MiamiNEW SHOWS:Mike and Molly: Chuck Lorre's third CBS sitcom (joining
Two and a Half Men and
The Big Bang Theory), this show is about a couple who meet and fall in love at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting.
My First Thought: Any show with a
Gilmore Girls alum (Melissa McCarthy as Molly) is good in my book, though Lorre doesn't have a great track record.
Hawaii Five-0: A remake of the Hawaii-based cop show starring Alex O'Loughlin, Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park.
My First Thought: Getting the stars of
Moonlight,
Lost and
Battlestar Galactica makes this feel more like a new Joss Whedon show rather than a crime procedural. That might make this one pretty good, as could the fact that it's a sexy cast in Hawaii.
The Defenders: A dramedy about a pair of Las Vegas lawyers starring Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell.
My First Thought: The stars of
According to Jim and
Do Not Disturb in a legal drama? I guess anything's possible.
$#*! My Dad Says: Based on the Twitter account of the same name and starring William Shatner as the titular curmudgeon.
My First Thought: Basing a show on a Twitter account is a bit like basing a show on a commercial, and we all know how well that worked out for
Cavemen. Also, as a journalist, I don't appreciate having to write out various random symbols every time I want to refer to the title.
Blue Bloods: A drama about a family of cops in New York City starring Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg.
My First Thought: This could be really good, especially since it's from writers who worked on
Northern Exposure and
The Sopranos.
