This week's episode of Happy Town continued weaving the yarn of Haplin. Tommy Conroy is the town's sheriff while his father recovers from his surgery and he knows that his best friend, Big Dave, is the one that killed Jerry Friddle in the ice fishing shack.

Tommy & Dave dig holes all over a field where Dave said the bodies of the Magic Man's victims were buried. But they found nothing. Now Tommy is caught between arresting his friend and keeping him safe. Tommy asks Dave not to come around his wife and daughter because now he knows Dave is a murderer.

The Brothers Want to Press Charges

The goofy brothers all dress in their best suits and go to town to press charges against Tommy for the way he defended Georgia at their house.

The Magic Book

Meanwhile, Tommy's wife Rachel and their daughter Emma befriend the creepy man who runs the cinema shop. He calls their attention to a large, ominous looking bird and gives Emma a book whose contents disappear.

The Good Samaritan

Chloe, the mysterious new person in town had a wreck when a giant bird flew into her windshield. A stranger, who turns out to be the brother of the dimwits in town and who got out of prison two years early, stops to help her to a doctor.

The Veterinarian

The doctor he takes her to is actually a veterinarian, not a human doctor. Then somehow, she and the man end up hooking up in the motel across the street from the vet's office. Chloe made sure that the animal head hammer was still in her purse, but later it turns up missing.

The Fight

Emma's babysitter is Georgia, the daughter of the town drunk, Carl. When she gets a bruise on her face, her secret boyfriend Andrew, who happens to be the grandson of the mayor, goes to pick a fight with Carl. Andrew punches Carl, then Carl stabs Andrew.

Cicero

During questioning, Carl tells Tommy that the Magic Man has a huge, scary bird that he calls Cicero. Could that be the bird that flew into Chloe's windshield and has been hanging around town?

Thaw Fest

Then the entire town turns out for the Happy Town Thaw Fest. The brothers tell Tommy that they are dropping the charges because their brother has a better idea about how to deal with him. The brother who just got out of prison joins his brothers at their dunk tank.

Soon after, Rachel disappears. And right about that time, Chloe discovers that her strange hammer is missing from her purse. Did the prodigal brother steal the hammer from her, then kidnap Rachel? Could he be the Magic Man?

Or is the Magic Man the creepy guy with the cinema store? Or, could Dave be the Magic Man and he's playing innocent with Tommy so he won't suspect?
