The rumor was over almost as quickly as it had began. Late last week, the internet went crazy with rumors that Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus, was pregnant. Fans came out in droves to defend the 14-year-old Disney star but some believed that the rumors could be true. The supposed source of the rumor was J-14 magazine, a celebrity magazine for teens.

In a July issue, a story was supposed to run about Miley’s gross habits on set, according to her co-stars. The piece was meant to be in good fun. Instead, a doctored version of the article started appearing on several websites, claiming that Miley had gotten pregnant, “I’m going to take good care of my baby,” Miley was quoted as saying in the article.

J-14 released a statement today on their website that read, “Despite Internet rumors, J-14 NEVER reported that Miley Cyrus is pregnant. Someone doctored the article that appeared on page 16 of J-14’s July 2007 issue, where a few of Miley’s Hannah Montana co-stars talked about her gross habits. Miley is an intelligent, respectable role model for young girls, and we at J-14 pride ourselves on presenting our readers with credible stories and information. This story is completely fabricated!”

Today, everyone from Access Hollywood to MSNBC to People Magazine came forward to say the story isn’t true. Miley’s publicist told People that the J-14 article was one hundred percent false. She also called the story “ridiculous and completely untrue”.

It is unfortunate that the rumor was started. Miley has been praised since her debut on Hannah Montana for being a positive role model for young kids to look up to. She and her father were on the cover of People earlier this year, and Billy Ray talked about raising his daughter right. They appeared in their first interview together this past weekend on 20/20 as they discussed Miley’s straight and narrow path.
