Miley Cyrus may be one of the biggest youth celebrities today, but the singer-actress and star of Disney’s
Hannah Montana leads a relatively normal life, thanks to her equally grounded parents.
"The biggest phenomenon in all this is that the kid's been able to keep her head on her shoulders," said her father and
Hannah Montana co-star, country artist
Billy Ray Cyrus. The two share a special bond, not only because they work together, but also because Miley considers her father as her main confidant.
"We're really close," Miley told People Magazine. "I feel like I can tell my dad anything. When we come home, we forget that we even work together and just hang out."
Mother Leticia “Tish” Finley Cyrus, who is considered as the disciplinarian of the family, makes sure to lecture Miley and the rest of the Cyrus brood about the common mistakes that other young celebrities have made.
"It is so scary as a mom to see all these kids who are so whacked now," Tish said.
Like any other regular teenager, part of Miley’s daily routine is going to school. Currently, the
Hannah Montana star is enrolled at a public school that allows her to study on set and come in for tests every Friday. At home, she is expected to help out by doing her fair share of chores, which include loading the dishwasher each night.
Moreover, the 14-year-old must attend mass every Sunday with her entire family, which consists of her parents, her younger brothers Braison and Noah and her older step-siblings Brandi and Trace (Tish’s children from a previous relationship).
Since breaking out into the entertainment industry, Miley has attained great success, both in television and in music. On Tuesday, she released her debut album along with the second song compilation for the show. The first
Hannah Montana album, which entered the Billboard Top 200 at #1, recently reached triple platinum in sales. She has also released a
Hannah Montana product line with Disney, and is being featured in Wal-Mart Soundcheck.
