Hannah Montana: Miley Cyrus Teary at Kid's Choice Awards
It was a combination of joy and sadness for Hannah Montana's Miley Cyrus during the 22nd Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.  She did bag a number of nominations earlier this year, but when the highly anticipated night came, she broke out in tears.  It wasn't the abundance of slime that got to her, but overwhelming disappointment.  Out of the three categories she was recommended for, Cyrus got only one.

A win seemed pretty unlikely for Miley Cyrus that time, but the kids had their way.  She was at last called to receive the famed orange Blimp for Favorite Female Singer.  Even though she already won the same category last year, she surprised the audience by sobbing on stage.  “I really thought I was going to lose, so thank you, guys,” she cried.

Cyrus already had to deal with losing to Selena Gomez of Wizards of Waverly Place, who took home the award for Favorite TV Actress.  She wasn't victorious for the favorite voice in an animated movie (Bolt) category either, as the honor went to Jack Black's delightful Po in Kung Fu Panda.  If that wasn't enough, Hannah Montana didn't get its due as well – iCarly was the one that ran off with the Favorite TV Show prize.

Hosted by Dwayne Johnson, this year's Kids' Choice Awards aired last Saturday, live from the Pauley Pavillion at the University of California, Los Angeles.  The stars of High School Musical dominated the event and were triumphant in many of the highest-ranking categories.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year
beat out Iron Man and The Dark Knight for Favorite Movie, with Vanessa Hudgens taking home Favorite Female Movie Star.  The Jonas Brothers became the recipients of the Favorite Music Group award, and even performed with the Pussycat Dolls to wrap up the night.

To officially close off the 22nd Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, Dwayne Johnson put on a dress and a wig to look like – who else? – Miley Cyrus.  At least we got to see her tear-free and happy.  Well, sort of.
