After Miley Cyrus
' stint at the Grammy Awards, a performance for the 44th Annual Country Music Awards was to be expected. Given her country music background and the influence of her dad, Billy Ray, the 16-year-old Hannah Montana
star won't dare refuse an appearance on the said event.
On April 5, Cyrus will be heard live belting out the hit song, “The Climb” from the Hannah Montana: The Movie
soundtrack. Since it's been climbing (pun not intended) the Billboard Hot 100 and country charts, the song would be more than appropriate for the CMAs. Also, Miley Cyrus will be going solo this time, unlike her Grammy presentation with fellow musician Taylor Swift.
While Miley may be mulling over her future in country music, she won't have to worry. She has enough experience, in addition to a father supporting her every step of the way. What's more, she'll be joining the impressive line-up for this year's Country Music Awards. Her fellow performers for the night will be Lady Antebellum, Reba McEntire, John Rich, Lee Ann Womack and Jamey Johnson.
The hugely anticipated event will be hosted by Reba McEntire, and will air live on CBS from Las Vegas's MGM Grand on Sunday, April 5, at 8 p.m. ET and PT. Fans of the genre, or simply those of Miley Cyrus, should go ahead and mark their calendars.
If stepping out of her Disney shoes is what Miley's crazy about, then it looks like she's heading the right way. However, when things don't work out, she'll always have acting, with or without Hannah Montana
, to fall back on
Those who might not catch the 44th Annual Country Music Awards might as well sit back and watch the clip below. You've probably seen it already, but you can still enjoy the official music video of Miley Cyrus' “The Climb.”
