This morning,
Miley Cyrus created madness and mayhem in New York City’s Bryant Park when she performed a free concert for ABC’s
Good Morning America. She’ll sit down and do an in depth interview with the morning news program next Tuesday but today, it was all about her music. Miley sang 4 songs on camera, including “See You Again” and her latest single, “7 Things”. During commercial breaks, she answered questions from the audience and signed autographs for fans. She spoke to the
Good Morning America crew about what an exciting time she’s going through and what it feels like to finally just be Miley.

“I’m excited to be here,” Miley said as she looked out into the crowd. “The last time I was here, it was as
Hannah Montana. There was a bunch of people but I think we’ve doubled it this time! I’m totally stoked!” Her newest album, Breakout, hits stores on July 22nd and it marks the first time that Miley hasn’t performed as her alter ego. Doing so, she says, was a little nervewracking. “I was extremely nervous until today and now I’m so excited that everyone showed up. I was like, ‘Okay, there’s gonna be two people’.” There were certainly more than two people in the crowd to see Miley perform. Some even camped out all night to get a good view of the teen star this morning.
The
Hannah Montana star has encountered endless run-ins with the paparazzi as well as a barrage of bad press surround her less than squeaky clean photo collection. Still, it seems that you can’t keep a good girl down – for long, at least. Miley told Good Morning America what keeps her going each day, saying, “I think just anytime I’m performing, if I look out into the thousands of people, then I remember that they’re the main supporters. I probably would’ve given up by then if it wasn’t for them.”
Would you camp out all night to see Miley in concert for free?
